The site may feel intimate. Its data practices should be restrained.
This page describes the launch implementation. It should be reviewed and updated before adding surveys, research enrollment, personal-story submissions, or additional tracking services.
Interactive answers
Your answers during the rabbit-hole experience are used in your browser to reveal and personalize the current path. They are stored temporarily in browser session storage so the journey can survive an accidental refresh. They are not automatically sent with your newsletter signup.
Selecting “Start again” clears the temporary path. Browser settings or clearing site data can also remove it.
Newsletter signup
If you choose to subscribe, the site sends your email address, a broad non-sensitive interest category, your explicit research-update preference, signup source, consent time, and campaign attribution fields to Buttondown. Personal answers about sexual or bodily experience are not included.
Buttondown manages confirmation, newsletter delivery, unsubscribe controls, and subscriber records. Double opt-in should remain enabled.
Bot and abuse prevention
Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical information needed to determine whether a signup is likely to be legitimate. The server validates every Turnstile token before contacting Buttondown. IP address information may be processed by Vercel, Cloudflare, and Buttondown for security, delivery, and abuse prevention.
Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics may collect privacy-oriented aggregate information such as page views, device category, broad location, referrer, and non-sensitive journey milestones. The implementation does not send intimate answer text or identify an email address inside analytics events.
Service providers
The launch site uses Vercel for hosting and server functions, Cloudflare for Turnstile, and Buttondown for newsletter management. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to the data they process.
Future research
Checking the research-interest box only requests future announcements. It does not enroll you in a study or authorize collection of health, sexual-history, or experience details. Any future research process will present separate information and consent choices.
Contact and effective date
This launch privacy approach is effective July 15, 2026. Questions about the site or its data practices can be sent to altgasmproject@gmail.com.
This page describes the current technical implementation and is not legal advice. It will be revised before ALTGASM adds surveys, research enrollment, personal-story submissions, or materially different data practices.
